Since 2006 Lee has been road racing all over North America in various series. His career started in the Skip Barber regional F2000 championship. After half a season Lee finished 5th in class, and then joined the national championship for the 2007 and 2008 seasons. Here, Lee learned how the racing world worked in and out of the car. Stiff competition from such drivers Josef Newgarden, Conor Daly, Gabby Chaves, Ricky Taylor, and Stevan McAleer helped Lee to elevate his game. In 2009 Lee made the switch to sports cars and immediately won the Mazdaspeed MX-5 championship along with the Skip Barber National shootout. Since then he has entered numerous one off races in such championships as the Grand-Am Rolex GT, IMSA Continental Tire Sportscar Challenge, and IMSA Lamborghini Super Trofeo. In 2013 Lee campaigned in a partial Lamborghini Super Trofeo season. With three podiums he was able to finish 4th in the championship. In 2014  Lee returned to the Super Trofeo series for another partial season. This time he collected 4 podiums placing him 3rd in the championship.
